ORBIS AG sees positive business development in the first six months of 2021
ORBIS AG, the Saarbrücken-based software and business consulting company listed in the General Standard, generated a good result in the first half of 2021, which continued to be impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
ORBIS managed to significantly increase sales year on year in the first half of 2021: Consolidated sales increased by 13.4% year on year to €47,098 thousand (previous year: €41,535 thousand).
At €1,969 thousand (previous year: €1,616 thousand), the operating result (EBIT) in the period under review was 21.8% higher than in the previous year. The EBIT margin in relation to sales is therefore 4.2%.
Earnings before taxes (EBT) of €1,801 thousand (previous year: €1,502 thousand) were reported for the first half of 2021.
ORBIS AG generated a consolidated result of €774 thousand (previous year: €735 thousand).
This corresponds to a result of 8.20 cents per share for the first half of 2021.
There was an inflow of cash and cash equivalents from operating activities of €3,720 thousand (previous year: €6,523 thousand) in the first half of 2021.
The number of employees as at June 30, 2021, saw a 7.9% increase to 712 (previous year: 660).
Provided that the economic environment does not weaken again due to a decline in demand in the global economy on account of the fourth wave of the coronavirus in Germany, we expect ORBIS AG’s business activities to continue to develop positively in the current financial year.
In view of the sales and earnings performance in the first half of 2021 and the good order backlog, we are still expecting to see a year-on-year increase in sales in a single digit percentage and a positive EBIT margin of between 4% and 5% for 2021 as a whole.
