ORBIS introduces SAP Sales Cloud at Stabilus: Digitalize, harmonize and optimize sales processes
The internationally active software and business consulting company ORBIS AG is introducing the SAP Sales Cloud solution from the SAP Customer Experience Suite (CX) at the Stabilus Group in the Industrial business unit. Stabilus, a leading manufacturer of gas springs and hydraulic dampers, is using SAP Sales Cloud as a central hub to create a single source of truth for sales-relevant information and lay the foundation for digital, harmonized processes in sales - keyword lead-to-cash.
Via the easy-to-use web interface of SAP Sales Cloud, the approximately 340 end users can call up all the information they need for their tasks at the touch of a button, clearly visualized - on the desktop PC as well as mobile via smartphone or tablet. Thanks to the ability to access the data around the clock, sales staff are always well informed about the current status of their activities. This simplifies and improves communication with customers and prospects and boosts customer satisfaction - a real added value.
The individual locations of key customers are bundled into a single global key account in the cloud solution. This also gives the key account managers a detailed insight into the projects and offers recorded for the branches of these customers at any time. This is another big plus. Management also derives great benefit from SAP Sales Cloud, as it can plan sales measures in a more targeted manner and better exploit cross-selling potential. The solution offers predefined, easy-to-understand key performance indicator reports and dashboards "out of the box", which could be optimally adapted to Stabilus' specific requirements using simple tools.
Sales-related data is loaded into the SAP Sales Cloud implemented by ORBIS from the central SAP ERP system as well as the ERP systems of other manufacturers installed at individual sites. For this purpose, the experts at ORBIS have linked the cloud solution with SAP ERP via SAP Cloud Platform Process Integration (CPI-PI). Other ERP systems as well as configuration and pricing tools that transfer the data required to create a quotation, including technical drawings, to SAP Sales Cloud are connected via SAP standard interfaces. The processes in technical development were also integrated into the cloud solution with the help of functional enhancements, thus replacing the in-house project management tool used to date.
Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the ORBIS and Stabilus teams involved in the project, the use of agile methods, and the Saarbrücken-based IT service provider's expertise in sales processes and the integration of on-premise and cloud software in the SAP environment, the rollout went quickly.
SAP Sales Cloud is currently being used in eleven locations; in the final expansion stage, 20 branches and around 500 end users will be working with it. But this is just the beginning. As part of its IT strategy, Stabilus is using SAP Sales Cloud to lay the foundation for a hybrid SAP landscape in which SAP on-premise solutions are supplemented by SAP cloud offerings where possible and appropriate.
