ORBIS SE defies the crisis. Revenue and EBIT in financial year 2024 at previous year's level
The Saarbrücken-based software and business consulting company ORBIS SE, which is listed in the General Standard, has published its Group Annual Report 2024.
ORBIS performed well despite the general economic recession in 2024.
According to the annual report, ORBIS recorded revenue of € 132,195 thousand at Group level in the 2024 financial year, which is the same level as in the previous year (previous year: € 132,209 thousand). The number of employees as at December 31, 2024 was 901 (previous year: 907 employees). The operating result (EBIT) of € 5,019 thousand is also at almost the same level as the previous year (previous year: € 5,140 thousand).
The company has introduced a new key figure, EBIT before special items, to provide a more transparent presentation of ORBIS SE's operating performance. EBIT is derived from the result from operating activities reported in the consolidated financial statements. This is adjusted for special items, which may result from the amortization and impairment of intangible assets from purchase price allocations and amortization of goodwill. At € 6,194 thousand, EBIT before special items is almost at the previous year's level (previous year: € 6,260 thousand).
Earnings before taxes and minority interests (EBT) increased by 17.8% com-pared to the previous year to € 5,905 thousand (previous year: € 5,012 thousand), partly due to changes in the valuation of financial liabilities in connection with business combinations.
The share of consolidated net profit for the year attributable to the shareholders of ORBIS SE after taxes and minority interests amounted to € 3,999 thousand (previous year: € 2,712 thousand).
Cash flow from operating activities amounted to € 10,409 thousand in 2024 (previous year: € 9,701 thousand). Despite high investments in the expansion of the Saarbrücken site and the expansion of business operations, ORBIS still has cash and cash equivalents of € 18,118 thousand (previous year: € 16,367 thousand).
The digitalization of business processes remains at the top of the agenda for all companies in order to achieve competitive advantages for the future. However, ORBIS must assume that the continuing weak domestic and foreign eco-nomic demand, the domestic and geopolitical uncertainties, particularly with regard to US trade policy, and the resulting subdued consumer and investment sentiment will continue to have a negative impact on the business activities of ORBIS customers in 2025 and on their willingness to invest in new projects.
Due to the current economic crisis situation in Germany and Europe, ORBIS expects revenue and earnings (Group EBIT before special items) in both the Domestic and International segments to remain at the previous year's level or increase slightly in the 2025 financial year.
The Executive Board and Supervisory Board will therefore propose a dividend payment of 10 cents per share at the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
